This Privacy Policy details how we manage your personal information in relation to our web-based tool, which principally supports but is not limited to teachers in classroom discussions. Dialogic is the product of academic research and the byproduct of ongoing research and development. Users may access Dialogic for their own personal and professional work, but to the fullest extent permitted by law, Dialogic will not be liable for any indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use Dialogic. Dialogic collects only the minimum necessary information from teachers and other users when they create an account, which includes their email address. The web-based tool allows users to input participant rosters, track discussion order, and take general notes during seminars. The data generated within the tool is considered simple, raw, continuous variable data, and does not include any personally identifiable student information.

We may from time to time share deanonymize non-personal identifying data to researchers from academic institutions for the continued research, development, and improvement of Dialogic, but only with users’ expressed approval.

Any data stored will be encrypted at rest and in transit on AWS's secure RDS database clusters.

Audio Recordings and Transcriptions

Users may activate transcription technology to facilitate the use of our Service. When activated, users consent to the recording and transcription of audio content but, in accordance with state laws, may still need to secure all-party consent from participants.

  • Data Collection: Dialogic collects audio recordings solely for the purpose of transcription. No personally identifiable information is collected or stored.
  • Data Retention: Audio recordings are stored securely for a limited time to enable transcription. Once the transcription is complete, audio recordings are permanently deleted.
  • Data Usage: Transcriptions can be used to provide the transcription feature and may be used for research purposes in an anonymized form.
  • Data Security: Dialogic implements reasonable security measures to protect the privacy and security of your data.
  • Your Rights: You have the right to deactivate the transcription feature at any time.
